There are some changes happening at Your Lifestyle Manager....
I started this business 5 years ago because I had a deep desire to help people. Helping others is something that I have always been drawn to. I have always been the one that people come to, to ask how to do something, where to find something and just ‘can you help me figure this out?’ This is what inspired me to start this business! Everyone has their strengths and this one is mine.
For as long as I can remember I have had the need to share what I know. That can be anything from something exciting that I have learnt that has made life easier for me or something that I see that I think someone could change to make their life easier.
Over the years, as we all are, I have been presented with some stressful situations and have had many moments of not coping well, becoming overwhelmed and not knowing the way forward. Life seemed difficult, I was becoming more and more frustrated and impatient with day-to-day life with no real idea on how to get myself out of the rut that I felt I was in. I was running on autopilot, trying to do everything, not enjoying much of anything and taking my frustrations out on others. All without really realising what was happening.
I felt frustrated by the littlest things, when my hair wouldn’t sit the way I wanted it to, when I couldn’t find an earring I was looking for, if I spilled something etc. I was always rushing, rushing to pick the kids up from school, rushing to get home, rushing to spend time with them, rushing to cook dinner, rushing to do nothing.
Complaining about things one day a very good friend suggested I need to ‘go within’, to start looking at my life from a different perspective, to see that I was, in fact, the cause of the majority of my own stress and overwhelm. I had no idea that this was happening!
My initial thoughts were why… why do I need to change? All of these things are happening TO me, aren’t they? She suggested a book, then that lead me to another, then another and then….. OHHHH I get it now. It was me, the cause of my own stress. Yes of course stressful situations do come up for each of us but I learnt there is more than one way to handle it. Not just outwardly, but the way we handle things internally. On the outside I didn’t look like what I am describing but on the inside I was a mess. I am sure so many people can relate to this. You only need to look around to see people who appear ‘happy’ and ‘together’ but if given the opportunity would tell you of many areas of their lives that they have an internal struggle with. And then of course there are the physiological symptoms we can’t ignore. Muscle tension, headaches, frequent illnesses, anxiety, stress, disease, to name a few
This prompted me to start digging deeper. I knew there must be a better way, and a way I could help others. I wanted to help others learn what I had learnt, that life really doesn’t have to be that hard and that we have more power over our lives than we think we do.
In the words of Wayne Dyer, ‘If we change the way we look at things, the things we look at change’
On my journey I learnt so much I knew I had to share. I know there are so many of us out there who are struggling. Struggling with doing too much, feeling like we’re not doing enough, running on empty, running on autopilot, feeling tired and unwell, the list goes on.
This is how I found coaching. After months of research and soul searching, I decided to enrol in a Holistic Life Coach course which also gave me a certification as a mind-body practitioner.
What do these roles do exactly? I am sure you have heard of life coaching. A life coach is someone who can help you identify your strengths and weaknesses; identify areas you may be holding yourself back with outdated belief systems that no longer serve you and act as someone to hold you accountable in achieving what you want to achieve.
A holistic coach is someone who will look at all aspects of a person’s life to identify imbalance as an imbalance in one area will have a negative impact on another area. By all areas I mean the mind, body and soul. As a mind-body practitioner I have extensive knowledge on the mind-body connection and how our thoughts actually impact us physiologically, alter our nervous system state, and how to use neuroplasticity to rewire our brains for change.
So, in saying all of that, being a Personal Concierge has shown me just how stressed so many people are, myself included. I want to now take it that one step further and help you learn how to manage and/or eliminate stress in as many areas of your life as possible in order to bring some ease and flow into your life and create the change you’re seeking.
I have spent the last few years doing this for myself and I can say with certainty that the work involved is so worth it. I no longer wake up dreading each day. I know I have the tools and knowledge to be able to get me through each moment with a lot more ease than I used to, which has ripple effects across my life. I am not saying I have my shit together in every moment, I absolutely do not. But the never-ending overwhelm and frustration is gone. I of course do still get overwhelmed but I have been able to learn and maintain the skills I need to carry myself through these moments and out the other side. At the end of the day, our emotions are simply energy that wants to move, energy in motion, E-MOTION. If we do not have these skills, we cannot properly process our emotions and we suppress them, avoid them, say yes when we really want to say no because we don’t want to offend people, do not live according to our values, have no idea what our needs are and subconsciously ask others to meet them instead of meeting them ourselves…
It is still perfectly ok to ask for help, we are not meant to do life alone, we are meant to give and receive help and if that means using the services of a personal concierge, do it! This is absolutely a service I am still offering as I love it. It is just a part of who I am ❤️
